With the fund in a 'transition' phase, only investors with a long-term perspective should put money in it. Periodical exposure through a systematic investment plan (SIP) is also a sensible option

The fund is in a transition phase. From its focus on companies having healthy balance sheet and positive cash flows, its focus at present is on companies having leveraged balance sheet, a sound business model and have the avenues to de-leverage their balance sheet. These avenues are assets. Assets such as land banks or projects. This is a sensible strategy in the present market where interest rates are still high and earnings visibility is low.

Another interesting aspect of the fund is its exposure to reasonably valued mid-and small size companies which have an edge over their peers in terms of their strong business model and pricing power. Besides this, the fund follows a conscious strategy of spreading its investments instead of taking a concentrated exposure to a particular sector or a stock. Around 80% of the fund's portfolio forms mid-and-small-size companies.
